Roland D-05 Editor Help

Connecting via USB MIDI

The D-05 requires special drivers from Roland in order to use USB via its MIDI connection. Since drivers can't be installed on iPad, the D-05 can only connect to your iPad via the MIDI DIN In and Out ports.

For Mac, you can download the drivers from Roland here. Once you have successfully installed the drivers and restarted your computer you should see a "D-05" option for both MIDI In and Out in Patch Base's MIDI setup menu.

Turn off protect

Turn off MIDI Thru

The D-05 has a "MIDI Thru" setting which, when turned on, will take any message received by the D-05 and immediately re-transmit it to the MIDI Out port. This can cause problems with Patch Base, depending on your MIDI setup. If Patch or Bank fetching is not working properly, try turning this setting Off (under Function -> MIDI on the D-05).
